SageTV to Media Portal

I finished last night a tool that converts SageTV recordings to Media Portal.
If available it uses the .properties files generated using BMT or otherwise just uses the file name conventions. It generates a xml file that contains all the sagetv metadata.

If anyone wants to give it a try (I used it to convert all my recordings, and they look quite slick in MP-TVSeries), I can upload it here.

Erik.

Nice work! The more disaster recovery plans the better in my opinion.

JW, What are you using for clients? do you actually have client pcs running at every tv? The more I think about that solution the less intreged I am about doing it. IT so much to maintain and just not very worthwhile... for me. I have actually been considering a solution that doesn't require me to have an on premise server (SageTV or other PVR) at all. I bought a boxee.tv as a gadget to play with, and I have to say its really nice not having to manage another computer or set of computers as i do with SageTV and any other solution currently out there.

Here we go, on skydrive
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resi...AC1jJGkP2wTidM

Couple details:
- there is one option that generates the XML files for all SageTV recordings, it should be run first
- there are two options for renaming, one that generates a preview (preview.txt file) and a second one that does the actual renaming. It moves SageTV recordings into [genre]/[series]/[episode name] - SxxExx.xxx
For these options to work best, you should run the BMT plugin and let it generate .properties files. I had to retry BMT multiple times until it populated correctly the files.
Once the renaming is done, the files can be imported into the MP-TVSeries plugin or simply in the video folder.

I have enough computers at home so far, so I am planning to use them as clients. I have way enough troubles setting up wifi and networking even with computers, I can't imagine streaming video on a different system.
