I'm not aware of a way to reflash the device.

In the picture of the top of the board, there is a realtek chip on the right with what looks like discolored lettering (could just be the picture, though). Try powering up the board and see if anything is getting too hot (hotter than the ouch test).

Thanks for the reply. All of these options appear to require that the box boots to the standalone screen. I am not getting video output. What I'm wondering if there is a low level flash procedure that some modern devices have. You just put the files on USB/SD then boot, the box sees the files and reflashes. There's usually a button you have to hold down or something to make it go into the auto recovery mode.

Can you telnet into the HD300. If you can then you can reflash the firmware (I think)

I should have been more specific. Try the "Configuration Reset Procedure". I have an HD200 that acts up every time it loses power. It gets no video output, just like your 300. This procedure fixes that. (Until the next power cycle.) That's the "hold down a button while it boots" option.

And if you look near the bottom of that post, it says one of the firmware options is

which is what you're asking for.
