Question Relocating

I am currently getting Freeview from CP but will soon be relocating to Derbyshire where Freeview comes from a "Freeview Light" transmitter at Stanton Moor. Not surprisingly, this transmitter does not feature in predefinedDVBT.frq, so native tuning with SageTV won't happen by default.

I have seen in this forum that retuning is becoming more of a problem as SageTV ages, along with its users!!

I know that some here use other tools to create the frq file rather than let SageTV do it natively. I also know that ScanchannelsBDA does not find HD channels.

So, do I modify predefinedDVBT and add a new transmitter, use a stand alone channel scanner (which one?) or try to construct a frq file from scratch?

I have a twin channel TBS6820 tuner. If I try to hand craft a frq file where do I find the onid, tsid and sid data for the services on Stanton Moor?

You can easily add to your PredefinedDVBT.frq by looking at the frequencies here:
www.ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Stanton_Moor

So your new entry should look something like this:
Code:
"United Kingdom-Midlands@Stanton Moor"
	frq:778200000;band:8;
	frq:706000000;band:8;
	frq:746000000;band:8;
	{tune:1;pat:6;sdt:16;}

Rick,

Thanks for this. When I get up there I'll give it a try. Out of interest, I tried modifying my CP predefinedDVBT.frq to include the HD muxes as follows:

"United Kingdom-London and South East@Crystal Palace"
frq:529833000;band:8;
frq:545833000;band:8;
{tune:1;pat:6;sdt:16;}

Tried a native scan in SAgeTV & it found no channels. Any ideas why not?

Keith

No idea, I did the same to mine and it worked. Have you got more than 1 Crystal Palace in the file? They need to all be under 1 entry...
