As I understood it
it is possible to have a motherboard with as many pci express slots as wanted because of the new serial technology rather AGP which is parallel

Heh, thats a lot of money to plonk down, all just to get DxVA enabled on the secondary monitor. As I said eariler, I suspect its a problem which can be rectified through software. Won't it be cheaper that way?
I wonder how many people will actually spend so much to get dual x16 graphic cards?

Software is actually what causes the problem. Specifically either the way the drivers are written for the video card or the way windows wrote in dual-monitor support. Generally speaking, just use a different decoder is the cheapest way.
