I'd also like to reiterate this. This plugin does not always work as intended. I ended up with multiple empty stations with duplicate channel #s that could not be deleted. They could be reassigned, but not removed from the channel setup page. Ugly!

You'd need to restore your .wiz file if you want to undo these channel lineup screwups, they're permanent otherwise as far as I could tell.

I know that some people were asking about what to select under Software you use: in your Schedules Direct account online. There is now an entry for SageTV under JSON: called SageTV. You may select that.

Should we go back and change out selection?

If it's not SageTV, then yes. This setting does not affect your ability to get EPG data. This mostly helps track just how many users we have on Schedules Direct and can give me a few developer related perks.

You can change this setting by going to Account Details - Edit Account Details and under JSON select SageTV.

Mine was already set there. I think it used to be SDEPG plugin or something when I originally picked it and SD renamed it.

I suspected that might have happened for most users, since that's what happened for me, but I couldn't have been sure.

Thumbs up Got Schedules Direct EPG working

The EPG goes bye bye after 5+ years :-(
Thank you, thank you for the EPG fix.

It took all day but I was successful in getting Schedules Direct working. The main problem I had is SageTV ver9 would not install on Windows XP. Here is what I did to get things working again.

1. Backed up SageTV directory (a must).
2. Did a fresh install of Windows 8 (had an extra license).
3. Was able to do a free upgrade to Windows 10 (yea).
4. Fresh install of SageTV ver7.19 (no problems).
5. Copied my old ver7.19 over new ver7.19. (it seemed to be working).
6. Installed SageTV ver9.15 over ver 7.19 (No problems).
8. Copied old WIZ.bin to "Program File/SageTV" directory.
9. Installed SageTV Client on other PC (It works & plays old vids).
10. Created account on schedulesdirect.org. (noted ID/Pass)
11. Edited "Video Sources" to use Schedules Direct for Tuners.
12. Edited channels to only select the channels I want.
13. Verified that it is working on HD300 and SageTV Client.
14. Changed UI/STVs from SageTV7.xml to SageTV3.xml (Wife likes it).

The Guide now shows 21 days of programs, it use to only show 14 days. So far it is working and all saved programs are still playable. It looks like I will be paying the $25/yr for the EPG data.

Working through this as well today...don't have to fight the legacy OS battle as much as you, but still sitting on Win7 with a non-EPG functioning Sage7 trying to figure out how painful the v9 upgrade is going to be. Your notes may prove to be quite useful...

Well...that wasn't so painful. Now up and running on v9.1.15 with a functional EPG.

Appears I need to stop "neglecting" my Sage install. I completely missed the announcement about the EPG as well as had lots of other plug-in updates that hadn't been done in the last couple years. My Sage server has had very few issues the 7 years it has been running on this hardware. Getting to the point that I need to replace this hardware and pay more attention to the progress/features in v9.

FYI the initial epg load can take awhile. It is done when you see the 2 sdmd5* files in your sagetv directory

Have those and dates inside the sched file are out to 8-5-17. However, I must have missed something because I have "NO DATA" beyond 6pm Monday where the old EPG service left off.

Do I need to install the EPG plugin from Slugger or is it native now in 9.1?

It's native. Did you remove and re-add your capture devices?

No, I just updated the Lineup to use Schedules instead of the old Broadcast entry from the EPG server.

That worked for some people, but I had a problem when I did that.

Removing the tuner and re-adding it with Schedules Direct worked for me.

I just removed and added all 3 tuners (one at a time) and deleted the 2 epg files that are downloaded by STV. Waiting to see if that worked.

Edit: PROFIT! I have guide data out to August and looks as if the recordings are still scheduled. Thanks NetworkGuy.

I'm curious about this too... I'm running Sage Version 7 on a Windows 7 machine and have for over a decade! I'm still in the initial research phase, but will I have to upgrade to Version 9? Is Version 9 that much 'better'

Thanks!
