Hauppauge HD-PVR 60 Audio/Video support info

Grab the later ver of SageTV 9.1.8 or newer .
By default with HD-PVR 60 will record the audio as MPEG Layer 2 and what ever stock Video Bitrate is set at I think it was 9MBit/sec.

To make changes to them you need run Registry Editor
Look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Grabber
The registry line for VideoBitRate: By changing the decimal number: The Max Video Bit Rate 16000.
The registry line for VideoDataRateType: I'm guest that this for CBR and VBR mode which I haven't fig out what it for as it dose nothing.
The registry line for AudioCodecType: By changing the decimal number: 0 = MPEG Layer 2 or 1 = AAC.
The registry line for AudioBitRate: By changing the decimal number: MPEG Layer 2 top out to 256k and with AAC top out at 192k.

NOTE: You must reboot in order for the changes to take affect.

I have no idea if audio is good to go in LiveTV mode with SageTV HD200 or HD300 sense no one could be bother to loan me one for test it.

Thanks to JustFred for the wonderful work done add this in .

I like thank KryptoNyte for hook me with a HD300

So far everything was working out standing with HD-PVR 60 in LiveTV mode on the HD300 unlike with HD-PVR 2 as all know refused work in LiveTV mode so file most be more compliant.

I did see a few hiccup not a big deal on one them of them which seem to be common issues which I think has something to do with HDMI splitter it self that maybe the root cause by it re-sync HDMI causing both audio and video freeze or sputter for about 3/5sec then come right back the other one seem to be timer bar even know it was 10 min ahead of LiveTV it did show right time index which wouldn't allow me to fast forward nor skip but it keep on play just fine, so the only thing I could think of is bad audio/video mux.

I've been using the HD PVR 2 and suffering the wrath from the wife about how it doesn't play live tv. Yay for no more channel surfing at least! I'm recording through component on a Shaw DCT 2600.

Anyone know if Shaw encodes the HDMI output and if this HD PVR 60 would get around it?

Thanks

So it that a DCT6200 then ?
That has DVI output right have try a DVI to HDMI cable if you have one lie around ?.
See it get Video signal on your TV then try with Hauppauge Capture tool don't worry audio what happen ?.
Then all need is a DVI to HDMI converter box like in this below photo or could even go with Component input to HDMI output converter box keep the same receiver box.
Any Cable or Sat receiver box with HDMI output on back you still HDMI splitter to get around HDCP.

So I just got my HD PVR 60 setup. Working well so far with my HD300s.

Only downside, which I didn't realize when I purchased it, was no 5.1 audio support... I really wish it had a SPDIF input like the 1212/1512 do but otherwise live tv works well.
