I can't say any of those OP suggestions hold a candle to closed-captions and embedded subtitle support, IMO. Right now an HDx00 extender is required for that, and they won't last forever.

Totally agree, Valnar. For those dependent on closed captions the lack of a working solution for closed captions for H.264 video is a game ender. My cable company (Xfinity) is progressively converting channels to H.264. For me this means the lights are going out all over my TV universe.

Trakt.tv support for syncing watched show/movie status (and favorites) - this is useful for both those using multiple playback platforms today as well as anyone migrating platforms in the future.
Multiple user profiles to allow separation of displayed recorded items/favorites (and other settings/status like watched progress).

Profiles would be slick. But then there are things that everyone watches.
It would be really neat if when something gets delayed, (e.g. due to the game before it running long), Sage could adjust the recording times.

r5000 support for non-windows installs (UNRAID for me)! Native would be awesome, but I could even live with the ability to use the sage docker with the r5000 on windows VM.

I've never been able to transcode anything at 1080i anyway.

Absolutely! I know there's an extender for the sporting events themselves, but I don't watch or record those. It's whatever comes after that gets messed up if I don't manually extend them.

There was some discussion about this a few years ago but there was no way that we could figure out how to do this.

remember in the old days of tv - broadcasters used to flash a small box in the upper corner, in underscan, that alerted affiliates of when a network commercial break was approaching. Surely there’d be a way to insert something in the vertical interval, line 21, that old stuff, that would alert DVR’s and software programs of scheduling changes, and those devices would respond accordingly, adjusting their recording programs. My Nespresso machine reads the barcode on the edge of every coffee pod, and alters the water flow amount and brew time accordingly. There must be a way this can be fixed. Sports programming is responsible for nearly every single development in TV technology. This problem has needed a solution for FAR too long.

One more...
Integrated Commercial Detector with a property that can be set in each Favorite for whether to apply commercial detection or not and a property for the feature as a whole to set defaults including whether or not favorites start with the feature ON or OFF when being created.
