tuner Signal strength

After switching from win 10 to linuxmint 18.3 I have noticed my Haupppauge tuners signal have dropped from 80- 100 % down to 30- 50 %.

Is there that much difference between the linux drivers & the windows ones?

Is there something I am missing in the install/ tweaking process?
