USB-UIRT on Networked encoder not receiving channel changes from server?
Networked encoder is win7, has a usb uirt and hdpvr2 and colossus 2. Server is Unraid. Both discover and server set to true. Unraid server able to pull video from networked encoder.

USB-UIRT code tests work properly from the win7 network encoder, but does not respond when channel is changed by UNRAID server?

How do you have the tuner set up for that source in your server?

I'm running a similar setup but my SageTV server is also running on Win 7. On the server, when adding the network source I didn't set up tuning control. If I look at the Setup Details for that source, for tuner control it shows N/A.

Of course, on the system that is serving as the network encoder, the tuner control shows the USB-UIRT.

That's how I have it set up. If I test the codes from the network encoder, the set top box behaves as expected, but if I just try to tune the channel from an extender (and therefore the server itslelf) there is no response from the STB.

So you do have SageTV or the service running on the network encoder, right? Just checking the basics.

I've always run the service, and just run the .exe when i need to configure something on the networked encoder. Per the other thread, here is my unraid server props file. No value for any tuning_plugin, but ot looks like a lot of redundant lines for the same encoder number. No idea why that would be, but it can't be helping

All the redundant lines are standard for some reason. I have them too.

I'm not a Sage expert yet, but it appears that your tuner in question is mmc/encoders/-547941779/

One thing that sticks out to me is that for this line

mmc/encoders/-547941779/6/0/device_name=

mine looks like

mmc/encoders/1529720682/5/0/device_name=StubDevice

All my pertinent values for this device are in /5/0 where yours are in /6/0 for some reason.

See if that makes a difference.

I believe that /5/ and /6/ indicates the video crossbar. If the capture device has more than one video input (e.g. S-Video, component, coax, etc) each is assigned a number. You can have different settings for each input.

Uninstalled/reinstalled the sage network encoder instance on the vm, now they are communicating again.

Next challenge is that the USB uirt won't do the same thing twice in a row. I can't teach it with sage and have it retain what to it learns. Have also tried Lrnhelper to rebuild the ir file from scratch. Sometimes the output will control the STB, sometimes not. Sometimes it does for the first few test presses, then it quits.
