I too am having freezing on my FireTV it just freezes on guide and after a while it crashes. Doesn't work on my shield either I guess this is the end of using the miniclient.

I guess this is the END of SageTV as I run exclusively mini Clients.

My parents are reporting the same problem - I set them up with 3 fire sticks and they are running 32 bit SageTV V9 on Windows 7 - but at my house, I have SageTV V9 64 bit on Windows 10 and Fire Sticks (4K) and Shields and I am not yet seeing a problem. Last night one of my FireTV Sticks had a major update and it still worked afterwards. I will continue to monitor and test this problem, but I need a quick fix, which may end up being HDHR DVR, for my parents.

Can those of you with the problem confirm which versions of Windows, SageTV and Java that you are running?

Windows 10 Java 8 that came with install. SageTV 64 Bit ... Shield FireTV 4K and FireTV Cube all have the problem.

Windows Clients work fine.

So is the answer to stay on Windows 7?

Windows 10, SageTV x64 9.2.1, Java 8 64 bit u251.

I didn't realize that Schedules Direct had made changes. That's where I get my guide data for OTA which is all that I use.

By the way,
At my house, no problem yet, Windows 10 64 bit, SageTV 9.2.1.826 64 bit, Java 1.8.0_201
At my parents house with problem, Windows 7 64 bit, SageTV 9.2.1.826 32 bit, Java 1.8.0_221

I guess the 1st question that comes to mind - is this a problem on the Server side or with the miniclient? Nyplayer - where did you get that log file from?

Well, I started testing in another room with both a FireTV 4K and Nvidia Shield and I have the problem as well.

I got the log from the Server.

Just to add windows clients play fine and so does the HD300. Android MiniClients are failing

Looking briefly at the log file, which is the only hard evidence, I would speculate that something changed in the Android system and now the miniclient gets non-responsive for some reason.

Without an active miniclient developer who could respond to these types of issues, SageTV is in danger of going extinct.

As a workaround, it appears that the miniclient can still be used to playback and schedule recordings - just don't use the program guide - and if you use HDHR products you could use the HDHR app for viewing livetv (or dust off those HD300/HD200 extenders).

Yep I really liked having everything on 1 DEVICE made it so easy.

You can do that with Emby or Plex.

Yeah, you have to trade it off against other things. Like a functioning client.

In nyplayer’s log above I noticed there were a lot of error messages related to displaying channel logos. I don’t use Android mini client, but coincidentally I noticed that Schedules Direct has been having problems displaying channel logos lately on my regular Sage Client for Windows. It doesn’t cause any freezes for me, just missing logos in the guide.

This was a problem a month or two ago, but only affected local channels. SD fixed the issue and all seemed OK, but this week I noticed it is back and now affects most channels in my guide. This is just a guess, but perhaps the mini-client chokes when it encounters this problem with missing logos?

Isn't there a way to turn off logos on the guide?
