Wrong language on hd 300

I have noticed for a week or two that on my hd 300's that the date and time in the upper right corner were unreadable to me. They were in some different language. So tonight i decided to see if I could change it back to english. I rebooted the hd and went into setup menu and could not find a language menu anywhere.
Now on the server machine itself if I go to recorded shows all is fine. So I go to my second tv with an hd 300 and it is the same way. I decide to look at the bedroom tv which has an hd 200 on it and when I switched to the hd input it was turned off. So on power up it goes to the setup menu where I can see the language button checked is french ( if I remember right ) So I selected english and finished up the setup that followed and on this one everything looks good now. I go back to the kitchen tv and reboot the hd 300 go into setup and still find no language to change close out and reboot and now it is back to english.
So I go back to main tv and rebooted the hd 300 and now it is back to english. I don't understand what changed the language in the first place and why changing it on the hd 200 corrected it on the hd 300's. Where is the language selection stored for the hd 200 and hd 300

Can anyone tell me how and why this happened?

Thanks
Wayne

Just a guess.

Language could be a server setting. When you changed it on the HD200 it changed the server setting and thereby changed it for all the clients.
