Instead of replacing the current app, maybe release a new version “SageTV Miniclent 64-bit for Arm Devices”?
Sure it is - I bought three, Amazon Fire devices JUST to run MiniClient in the last 12 months. We need to publicize that this thing needs a new, technical caretaker. Charge $5 in the Android Store.

This thread is about Google Play so that doesn't really apply to the Amazon store and sideloaded apps.

Yes, exactly. Which is why making a 64-bit ARM-only version in the Google Play store would be a good option as the nVidia Shield is the primary target client. It's much easier to drop x86 than it is to upgrade it from 32-bit to 64-bit.

It sounds like even doing that requires almost the same effort. The entire process is not something Stuckless is able to do anymore. Someone needs to step up and learn the ropes. I don’t have the slightest experience with Android apps and don’t use the miniclient so doubt I’ll be of any use.

Sorry, what’s the difference between Google Play and Amazon devices? I believe I sideloaded Miniclient from Google Play Store to one of my Amazon devices. How are you doing it?

My point is you sideload from an apk not from the Play Store so if you have a trusted source it doesn't matter as long as sideloading is allowed on your device.

Weirdly, with my two Firesticks, I didn’t have to sideload or do anything strange. The Miniclient seemed to be in Amazon’s approved app store, unlike when I tried to find it for an Amazon Fire HD tablet.

Since it is in the Amazon store then that is not going to be impacted by Google Play unless the also decide go 64 bit.

Just to complicate things more, I read today that the new Shield Tube only runs 32 bit apps.

That is true ... the Current MiniClient works great on it.
