I’ll try this with one of the ‘bad’ files, thanks.

Can you do that on one specific file or does that do a whole system re-detect?

I only started seeing this happen to my ripped DVSs (using HB) after adding these plugins to my system:

- SageTVTranscoder Plugin x64 1.0.5 (2021-04-30)
- Media Format Parser Plugin Windows x32 0.7 (2021-03-30)

I think for one specific file you could just rename the file and then tell Sage to scan for imported media. Then I would look in the Sage server log file to see how the plugin detected the file. Look for "MediaFormatParserPlugin processing" followed by the location and filename of the troublesome file.

Just a quick update

I've recoded several nfl games recently and haven't seen the symptom yet(knock on wood). No changes to my system or HB parameters. Maybe it's a seasonal thing.

I was working with Josh on my 0:00 length imported DVD rips.

I was using:

- SageTVTranscoder Plugin x32 1.0.5 (2021-04-30)
- Media Format Parser Plugin Windows x32 0.7 (2021-03-30)

Josh built me a debug build of the Media Format Parser Plugin. I had to manually copy the plugin files into my SageTV directory.

Once I manually copied the files to the server all my plugin errors that were showing in the sagetv_0.txt file were gone and so were my 0:00 length problems.

The debug build only had some additional code that was to help us debug the problem. IE more/clearer output into the log file on errors.

It seems like I had an error with the SageTV plugin manager in that it must have made an error deploying the plugin. Manually installing must have fixed that.

Saw this again today. I did two HB recodes of a 3hr game: I set the first recode as Q19, resulting in a file which played fine, but I wanted a smaller size resultant file, so recoded again using a bit rate of 5kbps. That one would play, but zero length, and no playback control. I saved what I could from log files, and similar to what CptKirk saw in his post:
https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/sho...81&postcount=3
but w/out the extra debug details. I am not using any plugins which seemed to be the culprit on his system.
The weirdest part is I tried it again an hour later and playback was just fine.

My question is: Can I use the Sage properties parameter trk2 recommended w/out adding the plugin?

Can you clarify the name of the 'format detector plugin' please - I don't see anything by that name in the plugins dir.
thanks

UPDATE: Finally found it, I think.
