cable card and 4k video on FIOS

i have found that i can watch the olympics in 4k on my hdhomerun cable card tuner, so the old cablecard is capable of decoding the QAM signal and creating a transport stream

but

1. it work fines within the HDHR app i have running on my nvidia shield pro.
2. in the sagetv client, i can record it, i can play it back but with a black screen but i can only hear the audio, so i assume some video codec is missing?

the file recorded by sagetv had the following properties:
mpeg-2 TS

video format:
3840x2160
h.265 (main 10 profile)

audio format:
e-ac-3 (atsc a/52b)

is there a way to play this back inside of sagetv client on the nvidia shield pro?

cheers (and stay safe everyone)

I think the first step is installing the format detector plugin which will allow Sage to recognize the h.265 format. Assuming the Shield supports the h.265 format, that may be all you need and the android client will then just work. I don't have any experience with 4k playback on the android client so I don't know what other issues you may encounter.

In theory yes, and I remember seeing threads where people talked about playing back 4k files in the Android client as well as on a PC capable of 4K playback.

It would be geat to find out more about this as there are new ATSC 3.0 tuners from HDHR that it owuld be great to use with SageTV.
