Commercial Skip or IR Input Active when Sage TV does not have Focus

I run a dual monitor setup using a Nvidia TI-4200 setup and often use the second monitor to watch recorded shows. When the dreaded commercials appear I like to fast forward and reach for the remote. Unfortunately, the remote doesn't work because the Sage TV window does NOT have focus.

It would be nice if the IR input could always be piped or linked to the Sage TV application.

However, if that's too much trouble, adding a commercial skip feature would be nice. Then I wouldn't have to reach for the remote at all.

proudrooster,

Both of those issues can currently be resolved.

First (assuming you're using the Hauppauge remote), the focus issue is not something Sage can fix. However it can be resolved in a few ways:
1) Use a USB-UIRT which has native Sage support
2) Use a remote via girder which can target windows w/o focus
3) Follow Opus4's guide to controlling Sage w/o focus

As for commerial detection skipping, check out malore's beta commercial detection STV

Hope it helps
