moving files out of 'recordings and library'

one more for everyone. transfered a couple movies that I had recorded to a different drive in my system. I then planned on using the inported video's section to watch them. I knew that the airing information would not be there but when I go to select them they are showing up as 0 minutes. They play fine, but I can't FF or the show will stop. Will this always happen if I recorded a show in sage and them move it to the imported section? Shows that I have recorded with different programs work fine in the imported section though. Also, is there anyway to set a different location for the 'Archived Shows' than the 'recordings". Unfortunately, I probably already know this answer but this is definately one of the major drawback for me in terms of not being able to move my files around and place them where I want them.
thanks

Check this FAQ entry. It sounds like SageTV checked the file before the copy was complete, so maybae that FAQ will solve it.

When you "archive" a SageTV recording, it doesn't actually move it anywhere; it just changes where it lists it in SageTV. The FAQ after the one mentioned above tells how you can manually move recordings after closing SageTV.

awesome, I really thought once you moved stuff out you were screwed! once more question, if I add another video directory, how will sage know where to record to? will it always record to the first one unless it runs out of room, then start on the other one? if so this is what i'm looking for.
thanks

That would be one of the Qs in this FAQ entry.
