bones71 and phantomfsoc,

Yep got brokern in the upgrade from 15 to 16 when I lost all the OSD code in 16 and tried to import it back in the then current version of 16. Many things got messed up.

Much of it got fixed in the 17 release but the OSD/comskip code didn't get fixed in 16/17/18A. I'm at least happy to say that it does work again in 18 Test B which was released earlier today.

what about IMDB lookups that can also download DVD descriptions, and art so that the info shows up in your imported video screens. This would be a REALLY nice feature...

What I've tried recently through minutes ago:
1) Yesterday was at v17A. Would auto-process man' & fav' records but not arch'. Settings: background processing enabled, all file types enabled, not when recording, not when awake. Changed to when awake instead of just when sleeping, no change.

Installed v18A, got worse, now wouldn't auto-process anything!

Renamed Sage dir, uninstalled Java, reinstalled Java, reinstalled Client 2.1.10, unzipped/installed JavaR1, unzipped/installed CoreR2, unzipped installed v17A. Tested, man & fav auto-process ok, archives nogo.

2) Today. Installed v17 release over v17a. Still the same: man & fav auto-process ok, archives won't.

Renamed Sage dir, reinstalled Client 2.1.10, unzipped/installed CoreR2, unzipped/installed V17 release. Tested, man' auto-process ok, archives nogo. (no fav to test but if man' works fav' has always worked)

Unzipped/installed v18A over v17 release. Tested, man' auto-processes ok, archives nogo once again.

Renamed Sage dir, reinstalled Client 2.1.10, unzipped/installed CoreR2, unzipped/installed v18A. Tested, man' auto-process ok, archives still nogo. I quit for now...
Noticed v18B released today... yada yada yada to v18B... same old story, same old song and dance my friend... man' & fav' auto comskip ok... but not the poor neglected rejected inspected dejected archive files...

BTW, has ANYONE auto-comskipped archived files via Cayars? Haven't heard yay or nay...

Recording Quality Levels Defined

I normally use the "Great" quality level recording.

I recorded a couple of longer movies, that I would like to record again at a lower quality level so they will fit on a DVD (I use TMPGenc to burn DVDs).

I am still using the Cayars 16 STV.

The recording qualities are defined as:
DVD Standard Play
Best
DVD Long Play
Great
DVD Extra Long Play
Good
Fair
SVCD Standard Play
SVCD Extra Long Play
MPEG2 Max Quality
CVD
VCD

Could someone let me know the order of recording qualities from worst quality to best quality?

Perhaps the recording qualities could be listed in order of 'worst to best' or 'best to worst' in a future version of the Cayars STV.

Dave

Reverse the order you have listed and it is worst to best quality.

The new routines weren't working correctly. ToxMox and pointed this out to me (via code) and the changes needed weren't worth the trouble to have it "rank and process" files in specific order like I was trying to do.

So I put it back like it was in 15ish style. It "should" be able to process everything now. It will process them according to the show end time. Oldest first.

I'd recommend 18B with 2.2.4

What's 1.9?

PVR-350 users:

Feedback needed. I'd like to know how things work with:
1) The latest drivers installed from here http://www.shspvr.com/pvr2_drv-apps.html.
2) SageTV Beta 2.2.4.
3) Cayars18TestB

Thanks for any feedback.

Almost but not quite, that would say put Mpeg2 Max Quality third worst!

That's the problem, it doesn't. Once all man' &/or fav' processed no further comskip instances fire off automatically. Doesn't matter if 1 or 5 etc. new fav's need processing they'll all auto comskip process one at a time as they should but then no more, doesn't do a single archived program. That's is with all 4 files types enabled of course. Again, manually comskip can be initiated on archives no problem.

In version 18B the mini-guide show info text is wider than the colored box behind it.
I'm have a 16x9 widescreen which may contribute to the problem.

Just upgraded to 2.2.4., Cayars18TestB, and J2SE 5.0 Update 1 and now auto com skip quit working. Anyone else having this issue?

EDIT: I went back to 17B and it works fine. Was a bug introduced in 18B?

HC
