DVDrip.bat should be in the freytechnologies/sagetv/stv/cayars/external folder

that is where all the extras are found. If you downloaded and installed the 3 files and are getting cayars stv to show up in sage, then the dvdrip.bat file should be in there. Just edit the file to match your setup (remember to remove the 'rem' before the line you want to use).
Hope this helps....you know it is a real shame support has dropped so considerably in the past few weeks for this thread.

nope, all i have is a folder DVDBurner and 5 .cmd files
cayers seems to be working fine except for that, the memory usage, and
and weather, as noted above.

hmm, do you at least have the external folder? That should contain all the other .bat files. They are included in the Corefiles download. Make sure that they got extracted to the right place--they might be somewhere else in the frey folder.

Yes, I have the external folder with the files I listed.

the .bat file isn't anywhere. I "searched" my drive in win. for that filename and also *.bat

I'll have to re d/l the core file. I just didn't really want to due to its size

thanks for the assistance

edit: it's not in the original packed archive either- corefilesR2.zip

They are no longer .bat files. They are .cmd files. Edit those files for the appropriate paths and programs you use. Edit the DVDRip.cmd file.

oh, perhaps an admin can edit the 'howto' post #1 to reflect that- it says to edit the .bat file.

thanks for the tip

SendMessage

I had girder mapped to toggle between the guide and live TV and it wont do this once I enabled the STV. I guess this is because the Message number no longer points to these ? Is there a way to replicate this action ?

Also I am a little confused about the comskip. does the info in the comskip thread cover any issues that would arrise in Cayars17 or is this using a "custom" version ? specifically no com detection works from the client, they all come up and say it took 0 seconds and 3 segments were detected.
on my server, it initiated com detection on a file and my CPU has been running at 100% ever since (wierd thing is its not impacting Live TV on the client) in task manager it shows that explorer is whats using the cpu. I cant really tell that anything is happening other than that, I dont see any partial files or anything.

thanks in advance

Comskip

I killed the explorer process after a couple hours and right after I did comskip started running on the server and it was only consuming about 40% of cpu, so I dont know what the explorer process was doing. Still havent seen any indication that anything is actually being done though.
I got the impression from the setup menu's that comskip would automatically run in background for all the items I had selected, is this true or do I allways need to manually select it off the info menu for the recording ? Is there a way to re-build or save the file without the comercials ?
Still have not had luck initiating a comskip from the client.

Getting a bit perturbed here.

Tried writing Vince, he said he does not do anything about donations/versions.

Sigh

Now, 2 weeks. SIGH!

Only two weeks? Heck, it's been a month since I donated $30 and he hasn't posted since and no word on where I can get the betas. I wonder if he is going to continue development.

...exactly what I was going to ask. I wonder though with Cayars out of action for weeks if it will ever come out. I guess we needed a new Bobby Fischer.

Frankly, v18's feature list seems too aggressive at this pace of development. Who knows how long it would take to work out the bugs on all those new features? I am happy staying with the relatively stable v17. I'd rather see a v17a that just fixes the couple minor bugs it has rather than add a bunch of new stuff that may create new ones.

I think SageTV is great with v17, but people will move on if development does not progress soon. Most of us like to be fed new features regularly. Frankly, I see Frey starting to lose market share if they do not release the developers kit within the next few months. It would also be nice if Cayars would release his code to the public domain if he is going to abandon it.

Frey could really make a splash if they would combine the SageMC interface and Cayars feature set into the default STV for version 3. Add built-in re-compression and commercial editing and you have a truly killer app. If I were them, this would be the minimum I would aim for for version 3. After all, we've already experienced most of this through add-ons! Release the development kit to the public at the same time and let us start building new STVs from that starting point. I think you'd see true innovation then.

Is there anyway to change the temperature reading in the Weather Suite to being Celcius? I'm in Canada, we don't use F.

Thanks

The RSS newsfeeds work fine. What doesn't work is if you click on a news header to read the full article, as that requires the browser (which as you said does not work on the MVP as it opens in a new window).

i believe you can edit the weatherconfig xml to change this. <weatherreportsuite
navigateDelayMilliseconds="200"
imageScaleWidth="1.0"
units="s" ------------------- change to m
weatherSourceMaxAge="0.25">

Not sure if anyone here is interested in converting SageTV files to .wmv and having a webpage automatically created, but if you are, check out this thread
