I thought I answered that, but maybe it slipped by.

My answer was, run that first and let me know which works or doesn't and then give me the file names it generates so I can give you the next set of instructions.

I've found it to work much better then 2.1. However, I still don't think it's up to 2.0.x as far as reliablility goes, but 2.0.x isn't an option anymore.

Sorry to ask this as it is probably in this HUGE thread, but I am confused as somethings in this thread are for different versions.

Is compress out of the box or is it working at all?

You really won't find much info on it here so you did the right thing by asking.

Everything STV wise is here and working but I did not include any of the external tools. Basically in a nut shell the "present" solution uses ffmpeg, another exe the runs ffmpeg and you need to setup a task schedule entry that runs this periodically. There are also a couple of config files that need to be setup for your system.

This works for most people, but others have problems with it. This solution only works for mapped drives and doesn't work for UNCs so this makes it not an ideal solution as many of us Cayars users run with UNC paths.

Also, many people report that ffmpeg causes audio sync errors and/or doesn't look anywhere near as good as Dr. DivX conversions.

Here's a thread that contains information on the setup involved.

I'll ask this here then proceed to the link you provided.
I have my import library setup with unc path, but myrecorded folder uses a local path. I only setup the UNC path for the import Library to get files with mp4 extension to play on clients. So did Cayars STV change that?

That won't cause you any problem. Import library paths aren't part of the equasion. You'll just want to have an import library point to where ever you create the finished transcoded file so you'll be able to see it in SageTV.

Oh BTW, don't know if you are aware of this or not. The file will start out being a "TV Recording" but will end up being an "Imported" video. You'll have the file listed in both places until you either manually delete the "TV Recording" or Sage does the delete for you.

Like I said it's not a very automated solution at all. Hence the reason I didn't add all the files to the zips.

When I press the Compress button it does nothing. Is it not active in this release?

Also, I have done a lot of searching about xml export and .my files. But they all seem to have something to do with other's STV's. Is anybody that uses "THIS" STV able to create a file to display the info of a show after compression or moved to import library?

dvd_maniac, follow post #183 in the thread cayars gave you. I got confused with the 15 pages of development discussion and installed some wrong items that were pre-thread 183.

I hope this helps, it does seem to work great for me now!!!

Good luck.

Phil

For DVDs? For DVDs it could be done with a plug in for DVDProfiler as I think Salsbst and mlbdude have put together.

I'm not sure but I think I'd go about it a different way and maybe use the information that can be obtained from IMDB.

Cayars,

I installed version 16 of your stv, rechecked to make sure unzipping was properly executed, added .iso to my library import extensions, refresh media libraries (several times), also went through checking that the "external" files included with the stv were setup correctly.... and I cannot for the life of me see any of my dvd.iso's I have daemon tools already installed and have been using it successfully for a very long time.....

what am I doing wrong here? help!

BTW you da man with this stv!, enough said

reboot_this, if you look at the actual files is the extension "iso" or "ISO". If it's capped then you'll need to rename them to lower case. The Next release will handle this.

I read in earlier posts about the issue with "iso" or "ISO", so I redid a couple of my iso's with the lower case extension, but I still am unable to see any of them show up so I can select on them to play them....

Hi all,

I don't post all that often, but I wanted to send my thanks to Carlo for his STV. I'd been running v15 for a while and didn't think it could get any better 'til I updated it to v16. I can't imagine using Sage w/o this STV. Truly a piece of art.

Carlo, thanks for all your hard work. My donation should already be on its way!

-Gary

Got it and thank!

I'm updating the list right after I type this.

PS the next two versions should make this an even strong STV.

Only one thing I can think of. Did you manually Refresh the Library after making the file name change so SageTV would see the new files?

I did do a refresh of the libraries, one question.. am I supposed to be running v2.2 of SageTV for it to work?... I'm currently using 2.1.1 of Sage
