Ok at this point after moving cards around in the Pentium 3 I now have one encoder working. The second encoder has an issue and is reporting that there are insufficient free resources.

I have been recording for a half hour at MAX recording capability (6GB /HR) and no problems using TVedia 3.2 and watching on my projector via the XCard.

Now if I can only get the second tuner to load.

SHS,

Unfortunately the Kitchen is a low profile system so the card will not physically fit in the case even with the top off.

I will have to do more looking into why the pentium III system does not work with the second tuner.

SHS,

Attached is a windows XP System Information file from the system. I am at a loss as to what resource it needs. I thought the only resource that the second tuner needed was the memory space right after the first tuner. Unless it needs an IRQ as well.

Both the 3com and Xcard were pulled out and it still didn't work.

I am afraid the problem was around when it was the only PCI card in the PC.
The Only thing left is the Nvidia FX 5200 AGP card. Not sure what I could do since I do not have another card.

I wish I had another system to test on. I have no issues with the one tuner with the intel board, but maybe there is actually something wrong with the second tuner and it has nothing to do with the mother board. It just seems odd that it fails even when it is the only PCI card on both systems.

I am thinking about a new Motherboard and CPU so when I get that maybe we see.

I am still on the fence on which route to go AMD XP / nForce2 400 Ultra or Intel P4/ Intel 865. Goal is $250 for the upgrade and both of these options give 3Ghz in that range.

Any Opion?

Thanks for all you help,
John

Think I'm going to have to agree with you on this john maybe there is something actually wrong with the PVR 500MCE I just finsh setup a 2nd system which all ready has Win2000 Pro on it which is Dell i815 motherbaord with 933MHz 256MB and GF3 Ti200 and SBLive and WinModem going to mom in few months from now anyway both the Tuner show up in the device manager where both on IRQ 9 and both tuner where working after install the drivers by runing a few diff tools now I have clean out all that stuff I install now I know it will work over same IRQ which I though maybe what was cuase your problem but I guest not.
