Downloads [Download Photoshop Elements Catalog Viewer v2]
File Name: Photoshop Elements Catalog Viewer v2 (2.76 MB) Download
Author: cncb (Uploaded by cncb)
Date Added: 11-16-2009

Description
This import allows you to browse/view an Adobe Photoshop Elements catalog in SageTV. You can select photos and videos to view based on the albums and tags you create in PSE and/or by different date ranges, ratings, etc. You can then view the results as a slideshow supporting both photos and videos. The main differences between the first version and v2 of this STVi are that the files are no longer imported into the Sage database and the new PSE database format is supported. If you have PSE v5 or earlier you will have to use the previous version of the STVi here.

Notes
  • The new "horizontal" and (classic) "vertical" browser styles can be toggled in the Options menu.
  • The Calendar view shows the years and months and number of files that exist for the current filter.
  • Note that only the PSE database is used and files are NOT imported/duplicated in the Sage database.
  • The custom slideshow player displays captions that can be toggled with the Info button and it handles mixed photos & videos.
  • "Smart albums" from PSE cannot be accessed in Sage.

Support thread here.

Installation & Setup - Default STV

  • Go to the Detailed Setup, Advanced page and select "Manage STVI Plugins".
  • Select "Add a new STVI plugin file" and navigate to the "SageTV\STVs" directory (usually up one directory) and select the PSEViewer_v2.stvi file to import.
  • Select Close and select Yes to load the STV with plugins.
  • Select the new "Photoshop Elements" item on the Media Center menu.
  • Choose the button to select your catalog and browse to and select your PSE catalog directory.
  • Select "Save & Reload".

Installation & Setup - SageMC
  • Unzip the downloaded file to "C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV" while preserving the directory structure.
  • Go to the My Menu, Settings page and select "Import STVi".
  • Navigate to the "SageTV\STVs" directory (usually up one directory) and select the PSEViewer_v2_SageMC.xml file to import.
  • Select Yes to load the new STV.
  • Add a new item to the main menu with the Dynamic Menu options screen. This item should be a "New Internal Screen" and select the "PSE Viewer" screen in the list.
  • Select the new item you created on the main menu.
  • Choose the button to select your catalog and browse to and select your PSE catalog directory.
  • Select "Save & Reload".

Usage - Browser
  • Pressing "Select" on a file in the browser displays that file in a (paused) slideshow.
  • Pressing "Play" on a file gives you a menu to start playing a slideshow starting at that file or playing a shuffled slideshow.
  • Selecting "Info" when on a parent Tag allows you to select the parent tag and all its children.

Usage - Slideshow
  • Pressing "select" will display a menu that allows you to pause/play the slideshow and other options.
  • Pressing "Play" when a video is displayed and the slideshow is paused will play the video.
  • Pressing "Left" will display the previous file.
  • Pressing "Right" will display the next file.
  • Pressing "Info" will show/hide the captions.

PSE Catalog/Version Compatibility
  • Tested and works with PSE v8.
  • Should work with v6 and v7 but not confirmed.
  • v5 and earlier require previous version of STVi

Creating and Loading Preset Filters USing Dynamic Menus
You can create preset filters that can be recalled via the Dynamic Menu system. It is a process that requires manually editing text files.

Suppose you want to create a menu item that always brings up the PSE browser with files dated within the last week:
  • Navigate to the PSE viewer screen.
  • Clear the current filter.
  • Select the "Dates" item and select the "Last Week" preset.
  • Add a new Internal Screen menu item in the desired Dynamic Menu that loads the "PSE Viewer" screen.
  • Save the menu file.
  • Exit Sage.
  • Open the appropriate .properties file in a text editor.
  • Copy all the text after the '=' in the line that starts with "pse/lastfilter=".
  • Open the sage dynamic menu .xml file in a text editor.
  • Find the appropriate element for the menu item that you added earlier and add the AddStaticContext function to the evalExpression element while pasting the text that was copied (in second set of quotes) as below:
    Code:
    <internalScreenMenuItem screen="PSE Viewer" title="PSE Last Week">
       <evalExpression>AddStaticContext("LoadFilter","||newestfirst||all||Last Week;Today~0,0,-7;Today||0||0")</evalExpression>
    </internalScreenMenuItem>
  • Now this filter will be loaded every time the menu item is selected and more can be added in the same manner.

Advanced Properties (must manually edit the appropriate .properties file)

pse/iconsize - Specifies the size of the "Checked" icon in front of tags, collections, etc.

pse/dtformat - This is an alternate format to use for the date/time display when files are selected in the browser. It uses the Sage "DateFormat" utility function.

pse/ss/dtformat - This is an alternate format to use for the date/time caption in the Slideshow player. It uses the Sage "DateFormat" utility function.

pse/presetdates - This is a list of the preset date ranges selectable in Sage. Each range in the list is separated by "||". Each entry is of the format: NAME;STARTDATE;ENDDATE. The start or end dates can be an explicit date (e.g. 12/20/04) or a keyword with optional offsets. The available keywords are Today, Month (first day of current month), or Year (first day of current year). The offset is of the format: KEYWORD~YEARS,MONTHS,DAYS. The offset can be positive or negative and is added to the keyword. Some examples:

Previous Month:

Previous Month;Month~0,-1,0;Month~0,0,-1

February & March of previous year:

My Example;Year~-1,1,0;Year~-1,3,-1
