My ‘lockups’ tend to occur when fast-forwarding...

My ‘lockups’ tend to occur when fast-forwarding recorded or live material. When I say ‘live’, I mean a currently live program which has been paused, and then I FF to catch up.

How is this possible? I’ve never built or used a Linux system, so excuse the apparent stupid question. Is it a core Linux feature, or an open-source addition? I could see this being a good reason...

Me too....the only reason I haven’t upgraded to 64bit are the damn Tim Moore drivers and Firewire. 1394 channel changing is so much better than IR. It’s unfortunate for sure...

Thanks for confirming this. I’m not sure what takes more ram, the SageTV app itself, or the Service Mode app, so that’s something to consider for freeing up ram. I usually watch via the SageTV app...
