It's not only you, all of mine do the same thing. But it hasn't been that big of a deal for me because SageTV is the only thing displayed on my TVs.

With the STB powered on, press the power button to turn it off and immediately press the menu button on the remote. There should be a special menu on the screen where you can lock it.
