I agree with you, should you choose to not update your system. Unfortunately on my system I will be applying all updates, always. Since I choose to do that it puts my system at risk of being broken.

I agree with Blade. Install sage7 from scratch and import wiz.bin. I had some odd issues when I upgraded, I since started over and it's been rock solid.

You could also use HD100s for HD. I have one in the master bedroom and one in my daughters room. For what it's worth my daughter watches blu-ray rips without issue.

I've seen that on our LCD TV in the living room. On our DLP projector I do not have this problem (HD200 on both displays). So I'd start looking at the display.
