How many cores do you have? Sage is only capable of using one cpu so if you have 2 cores (2 CPUs effectively) and task manager says you're at 50%, sage is using all available to it and CPU may still...

30 minutes is a long time to find a bootable OS. Maybe go into bios and move the SATA item up to the top of the boot priority. Take out any floppies or CDs, etc.
