I just took the plunge on this same setup....

I just took the plunge on this same setup. DirecTV gets installed tomorrow. I am using the AppleTVs for local media playback from iTunes Home Share.

Signed up for $52/month (3 room home DVR...

Purchase new HDHR Dual or keep original

I have a failing power supply on my first generation HDHR, and I see that Woot is selling the latest HDHR Dual for $70. Since I use OTA a lot, I wonder if it would be a better idea to get a new HDHR...

I use the AVermedia Duet for OTA with the CM7777 preamp. My stations are quite far (30 - 70 miles). It does a good job; much better than my HDHR (1st gen).
