I agree that Plex leaves a lot to be desired as a DVR. And, my biggest issue with using Plex to play shows recorded by SageTV is that it does not respect Comskip files.

That is likely true. Unfortunately, OpenDCT, even after following all the advice found in this thread and other OpenDCT-related threads, changed the issues I was having with Exoplayer on my Fire TV...
