It's probably related to the additional video processing done by your TV and/or other component in your home theater. The deinterlacing being the big one (it gets rid of the jagged edges).

The WHS version of sage comes with a free Placeshifter license, since it doesn't have local playback. That, plus backups, makes WHS a pretty snazzy option if you're using extenders.
