Do you have them defined/named in your Router?
Or maybe defined in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc on the SageTV Server (if Windows)?

I've seen issues like you described for some that had many subtitles.

As and experiment, try ripping without any subtitles and/or just english.

If you have multiple tuners, how do you know which tuner was used to record a show?

i.e you have 2 hvr-1600s (yea...still old school SD), how do you know which one recorded which show?

Otherwise if the paths are are different, then Sage would probably still pick them up but...
