I started off thinking that I had to use the gentuner program but it turned out that I didn't even need to do that - it just worked. Your other option is a USB-UIRT.

I use Firewire tuning but I never had an issue on unRAID, it was very straightforward and I didn't have any issues. My boxes are old Sci Atl - maybe that makes a difference.

Onboard video has evolved since 2010 on Intel CPUs. Unless you are gaming then onboard is fine. I think the more recent CPUs even can handle 2160/60p.

Yes - you might want to disconnect the W7 hard drive while you play around with this. unRAID runs off of a USB memory stick, you should probably have a hard drive or two to add to your drive pool...

No, the firewire drivers don't work on any 64 bit Windows system. However you can use firewire with unRAID Linux which is a 64 bit OS.

There have occasionally been upgrades where the DVB version isn't available for a little while after the unRAID version is updated. The DVB version is required if you are using HD-PVRs.
