Is the share on a domain controller? if not, its simple. Just create an account with the same username/password on the box that has the share as you are using ont he sagetv box.

Thats what I have and its great. It cost me about $99 a year and a half ago. They even released a media center edition shortly after I bought mine. Specifically geared to htpc's.

All pre n products will be upgradeable to my knowledge. It was the same way with G before the standard was finished. All it took was new drivers and firmware to get up to the final standard.

Also, the TV seasons on DVD have become big buissness. Thats why the MPAA is involved. The sales blew up to be way more then anyone thought and they are going to protect that.

I use VMR 9 and it happens on some DVD's and not others. The first one I noticed it on was Meet the Fockers last week. Everything else I have watched was fine.

Turn off 3d acceleration and overlay color kying in detailed setup\adanced in Sage. That will ix the slow menu. Power DVd as stated before is the best to use. Make sure yo turn on HW acceleration...

Yes, RDP will work fine. One of the VNC flavors will also work but you have to dload and install it. RDP is already there, why not use it?

True, but that's a recompress and could be done during the burn job by nero and a few of the others. He did not want to "degrade" the original mpeg with recompression.

You Onkyo probably has a much better dsp mode then dolby stereo. I have a Onkyo 6.1 reciver that can convert stereo into convincing 6 channel sound.
