transcoding improved with 9.2 64 bit?

I currently have version 9.1 installed with 32 bit win7. I use my hd300 on vacation for place shifting from my server. It isn't transcoding the best quality even on the high setting. I read that version 9.2 added the newer version of transcoding. Is this correct and if so would it improve my picture quality if I upgrade?
