how to record only "Season 8" of a favorite?

Hi there,

I have SageTV 9.1.8.770 server version.
I want to adjust a favorite to record only a specific season of a show.

For example, I have watched all seasons except season 8 of Chicago PD.
I want to go back and only record that season, is this possible?

Do I use a keyword in the Favorites Details?

Did you watch all the other seasons using SageTV, so that SageTV knows that all the other episodes are marked as "watched?"

I am hoping for a better answer, but I have always needed to view the "past airings" and make sure that the ones that I don't want recorded are marked as watched. And keep checking unless all past episodes are listed... (you can also use the info menu to set all episodes as watched, then unwatch the few that you want).

If you use the web interface you can find a program in the guide and create a new favourite. Then edit the favourite in the web interface and add a keyword.

In the example screen shot attached I added 'Season 4' as the keyword, and it now only selects that season. If I remove the keyword it also records season 3 too.


I can't remember what logic the field uses but its pretty powerful.

I've no idea what the program is, I just selected it as an example.
If it's dire it's not something i would usually watch

fwiw, keywords can also be added to a favorite within the SageTV gui itself, the web interface is not required.

I actually tested the keyword option using season 3, which had some future programs available, and couldn't get it to work with or without quotes. It didn't appear that season and episode where part of the keyword wildcard.

It could be down to the guide data.
I found these links a while ago and I use the EP\d+ option that Fuzzy mentioned.
