Motorola DCH6416
Well i made the switch to Insight from DirectTV. Did it on a whim, but trying to figure out how to change channels. It looks like most are using either IR blaster or firewire. I see they have ethernet ports, but it doesnt look like they work.
I see tommoore's firewire drivers, but it looks like they only work on MCE. I tried installing and it imediately said it would not install on plain old XP. So the qestion of the day is, what is the best (or maybe only) way anyone has had succes with changing the channel on these dhc6416 boxes? Thanks! |

I belive in xp without MCE you have to install differently.
create a batch file with the below and put it where firestb.msi is and run it. msiexec /i firestb.msi IDENT=”1” or you can go here and just download the drivers. http://home.comcast.net/~exdeus/stbfirewire/ Then you can go here and setup Sage for channel changing. http://babgvant.com/files/folders/sa...ntry11740.aspx

Wow! I never realized how badly firewire had fallen out of favor. You cant find these cables anywhere but microcenter in my area!
