Buy another Heck, at $150 you can buy two for the price they have been going for on ebay and these forums. I'm guessing since the announcement thread said they aren't going to be warrantied by Google or SageTV, it may just be a "cross your fingers" type of purchase.

On another note.. maybe it will bring down the prices people want for used ones. Probably not, but one could hope...

Chances are they are the second generation built and therefore less subjected to the faulty network chip or the blue/red LED issue lots of people have experienced.

Now that the HD300 supports HDMI 1.3 and HD Audio files bitstreaming of DTS-MA and other HD audio is supported. This answers one of the biggest missing features from the HD200. And even when you don’t have hardware with HD-Audio, the HD300 brings us the ability to down-mix that HD-audio content to TVs and older AV Receivers.

So, my conclusion is that I may have some files that lack a 2.0 track...and that may be an issue for me with my HD200...but I guess it hasn't been so far.

So, given this opportunity:

What are the reasons I'd want to upgrade my HD200 (or even an HD100) to a HD300. Aside from speed, varying file format support, etc.

Especially if it's hooked up to a TV directly (i.e. no surround sound)?

I recall not fully understanding in the past that it might be the case that if files were encoded with certain audio streams, no sound might be passed. Is that true?

Note: I do have 2 AVRs in other rooms, so have requested 2 of this boat shipment.

For me, the big win is the DTS decoding in the HD-300. If I have a rip with DTS, I don't need to hook it up via an AV Receiver to get the audio.

(Also the UI is faster on the HD-300, especially if I'm scrolling through a long list of Videos or Music).

I would really like to pick up one or two of these. I had one of my 5 HD-300 units go out on me recently, and I would like to replace it and get a spare.

It seems like I lost my old forum information and had to recreate an account.

Unless I miss my guess, newly created users can't use private messaging?

Is there another way I can contact the seller?

Doh! I have been lurking in the forums for almost 3 years now and finally need to post to get another HD300 but don't seem to have the option to PM the user. Is there a post count before you are allowed to do so? This is my first post!

Same here. Post count must be > 2. Lurking because Sage has been working for years without need for much troubleshooting. I was excited on seeing the post in my RSS feed only to be disappointed when I realised I missed out! Any way of getting PM enabled in case there is a 2nd lot on offer?
