Windows Client Hardware Recommendation
It's finally time to add another TV to my house... the GF wants one in the living room.
I don't have any more HD300/200 and I'd rather not buy another at the inflated prices with V9 coming at some point. Besides, I've been interested in getting a PC client at some point anyway. I don't necessarily need a 'client on a stick' or anything that exotic. A cheap laptop or SFF PC would be great if it does the job. I want to be able to use SageTV as I do with my HD300, and it would be nice if I could set up a menu item to launch the Netflix app also. Like anyone else, I don't want to spend a ton money, but my budget is somewhere around $100 to $200. I prefer windows only because I have a SageTV client license for Windows and because I'm more familar with Windows. (I used to use Linux, but it was at least 10 years ago and I don't want to climb that learning curve again unless there's a good reason.) What setups have you all used succesfully? I was looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Stream-200-...ords=hp+stream |

What kind of video/audio will you be playing back? Streaming? 1080P? Uncompressed Blu-ray rips? 3D? HD audio?

Are you planning on using a keyboard/mouse, or are you looking to use an IR remote?

Thanks for your replies.
Mostly streaming from netflix and 1080i recording from OTA. I don't think we'll use a keyboard much. I'm tempted to just get another Roku, but the extra functionality of Sage would be nice to have. |
