Congratulations and thanks for V9 - amazing work!
I probably would have never upgraded from Sage v7, since I finally had it running stable and reliable. But the schedules change forced the issue.
However, the upgrade from 7 to 9 was almost painless. I was expecting hours of debugging, but the upgrade went perfectly and has been running just fine for several days since. A huge thanks to the team of very talented individuals that made it possible! ![]()

Congratulations and thanks for V9 - amazing work!
Same concern here about upgrading from v7 to v9 and also the same excellent result! Upgraded on 7/1/17 and was up and going after roughly an hour of work. The system seems to be more responsive too. Well done team!

Really painless upgrade from 6 to 7 to 9 to convert to SD guide data. The developers in this community are amazing! Whatever the problem somebody here chimes in with the solution in short order. |

I totally agree. I thought SageTV was dead a few years ago but I am happy that I'm still chugging along on Windows - for 9 years now on the same computer at that and hope to well into the future. This is such a great product with a great bunch of developers and support folks. So happy that it was made open source.

I was about to start a "great job on V9" thread too, but saw this one.
Since the existing guide data has it's last day for me on 7/17, I thought I'd bite the bullet at the 11th hour and set aside my day to the upgrade to V9. Well it seems my reading and download time took longer than the actual upgrade. 1. Activated my 1 year on Schedules Direct for US$25 2. Ran the the upgrade from V7.1.9 to V9.1 3. Changed my Video Sources to ScheduleDirect 4. Removed the unneeded channels from the line-up 5. Re-selected the MC skin (love this one and glad it still works) Took me all of about an hour (before I went to bed) and then just had to wait overnight for the new guide data to come in and I'm back up. Huge WAF on this one!!! My setup is: - Silverstone HTPC case (looks like HT equipment and has lots of bays) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (because Firewire control is only 32-bit - unless that's changed) - 16GB RAM (but can only use 4GB) - 60GB SSD for OS (no mounting bay needed) - 6x3TB drives (no RAID because the internet is my backup) - 3 x Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250HD (Firewire controllable) - 3 x Hauppauge HD PVR - External Blu-ray (but never used) - 1500VA APC UPS Thanks again, Cheers. |

Another thanks here
Sage has been running flawlessly for me for the last 5 years so I stopped looking at the forums. Everything just worked. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I found out was EPG support had ended. But thanks to the all the work done by the people on this forum I was able to upgrade easily. Big thanks to everyone that made my life easy.
