1080p60 encode settings?

I've thinking about converting my HD home videos to 1080p60 but I can't get the HD300(in extended mode) to play them back smoothly. It plays for 3-4 seconds, then pauses, and then plays again for 2-3 seconds before pausing again, etc.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a x264/h264/different codec setting/profile that needs to be used to get 1080p60 to playback smoothly using a HD300.

I've tried:
x264: CRF=10. Profile=4.1
h264: CRF=100

Sidenote: When I convert my SD home videos to 480p60, the HD300 plays that back just fine.
