HDHR Tuning Random Programs

I have two clear QAM tuners (well, 3 technically), an HDHR and an HVR-1600. For the last few days I've noticed that it isn't always tuning my local NBC affiliate correctly. Sometimes my HDHR tunes the HD version of the channel, sometimes it tunes one of NBC's subchannels. I haven't had any problems when my HVR-1600 is tuning the channels, but I'm not 100% sure it's problem-free.

The channel in question has 5 programs: NBC-HD, NBC-weather, CBS-HD, CBS-weather, and NBC-3 (it plays moderately weird stuff). I haven't enabled NBC-3 in my guide, just NBC-HD and CBS-HD. But, a fair amount of the time when I try to watch NBC-HD I get NBC-3. Often, if I just stop playback and start it up again it will correctly tune to NBC-HD. Oddly enough, I never get CBS-HD or either of the weather channels by accident. Also, as I said above, so far this has only happened with my HDHR tuners, not my HVR-1600.

I'm not sure if this is a Sage, HDHR or Comcast problem. I am in an area that is undergoing a digital cable transition, but that doesn't seem to explain why the tuning is effectively random. Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips or suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello,

1) Remove the HDHomeRun tuners from SageTV and close the program

2) Delete the scn and frq files in the SageTV directory

3) Open HDHomeRun Setup, rerun the channel scan, verify the channel names and numbers, and click Apply/OK

4) Open SageTV and add the HDHomeRun tuners. Make sure to run the channel scan for each tuner (should take just a few seconds as it imports the data from the scn file).

Thanks! I'll give that a try, but I did everything you said to do except removing the scn and frq files. Is that generally something that needs to be done before rescanning?

By the way, I really appreciate how scanning and mapping works with the HDHRs. My HVR-1600 was acting up the other day and I did a rescan and it was a big pain to remap everything. Its much, much, much easier with the HDHR.

It's not normally necessary, but it has resolved some strange errors like this in the past so it's my next step when a regular rescan doesn't work.
