It works for me with ripped DVDs as long as I rename VIDEO_TS.jpg to folder.jpg.

I have made one major modification to the MyScraper application and a couple of bug fixes as well. You can now point the application to an Episode Overview Listing page on TV.com and have the application automatically parse all episodes of a given show and even save them automatically.

* My Scraper Executable
* My Scraper C# .Net Source Code

Enjoy and please report any problems you might encounter.

Cheers,

Phil.

Is there (or will there be) a way to search the .my files of Imported videos from inside of Sage.
I know that SageMC has the ability to save and edit the detailed info of Imported Videos, but is there a way to either just search the .my files themselves or import the .my file data into the wiz database without using SageMC?

By the way JREkiwi, I just wanted to say thanx again for this import

Thanks dvd_maniac. There's no way to search and I can't think of an easy way to do that.

If you recall, the whole writing to wiz.bin got caught up in the database changes that occurred with version 6. However now that Flachbar has changed SageMC to save in the version 6 format, it's probably time for me to have a look at this again.

pdavis,

Thanks for your efforts on making parsing TV.com easier. However, I just DL'd and tried your latest version and got some errors. I sent you a PM with details and logs, so as to not too severely sidetrack this thread. Any help would be appreciated, and I'll test anything you wish(if It's within my capabilities of course).

EDIT:>OK I believe I've gotten it working now. I DL'd the source file zip and found the "MyScraper.exe.Settings" file that the Error dialog was saying was missing. I didn't have any from a previous version since this is a new Windows setup. So I guess someone who had used earlier versions of your app may not have had troubles. Still you might want to put that file in the executable zip for future situations like this.

PS: Do you have any workaround for things like illegal characters in the .my file's save name/path? ie : Such as in what can happen with Star Trek:Voyager. I just tried to download all Eps. of Voyager to a temp(it was an empty dir) dir and ran into this issue. The scraper wanted to put the : in each .my file's name. A similiar issue occured when I did a full Ep download of Babylon5. It dilsiked the episode "What Ever Happened to Mr. Garibaldi?", because of the question mark. In this case once I clicked OK in the scraper's popup dialog, it went on processing the rest of the episodes. But that Ep does not have a .my file for it, in the temp dir. An auto-replace(of illegal chars) would be fine, or a character substitution table that a user could set(deciding which char to use for each illegal char encountered) in a file would be great. <:End of EDIT

Thanx. I hope it's easy enough.
It would be awesome to search for actors, description, title etc... for those of us that have massive import libraries...

Although it's not as easy as the auto save feature, it still only took me about 15 minutes to do all of Star Trek:Voyager.

I turned Auto save off, parsed all seasons and checked all. Then going back and forth between My scraper and My Scraper's Episode Guide screen I did the following:

My scraper = pasted url for Voyager All Seasons and pressed parse.
Episode Guide = I pressed Check All, then pressed Parse
My Scraper = took out the : symbol (or any other illegal character) then press Save.
Episode Guide = The one that was just parsed is now unchecked so just press parse again and repeat the removal of illegal characters and save...
repeat until finished.

Minor change to RW .my Files

(1.5.6)

New version under test RW Metadata
Test

- Automatic creation of .my and or .properties files for current recordings. (see 6.1.4 beta for properties file info)
- Manual creation of .my and or .properties files for any or all, current, past of future airing.
- Display more than default wiz.bin show information in imported videos
- Saves IMDB data to wiz.bin, .properties files, .my files

I have a question about properties files...
I created properties and .my files for all my current recordings and then editted out commercials and converted them. I renamed the .my and prop files to match. Now how do I get the properties file to import into the wiz.bin? If I remove the .my file the video detail does not read the properties file and there is no save feature

dvd_maniac, the Sage core is currently only reading the properties files on the first scan of a file as an imported video (not recordings). If the file is already an imported video when the properties file is created then the core isn't reading the file. Try a rename of the video and properties file at the same time and see if it picks it up on the next scan.

I hope that will be fixed in future versions, along with a few other additional field suggestions I've submitted. If the release version comes out without parsing the properties files on re-scans then I'll have a look at spending some time on a manual update button.

FYI the IMDB save does save to the wiz.bin You can also configure whether you want to have only properties files, or only my files, or both created by all the file creation methods (IMDB, Automatic, Manual, Bulk).

Thanx JREkiwi

One more question... Is the IMDB save feature suppose to save the actors?
I am not able to. It saves the Summary, Tagline, Trivia and Quotes but not Cast... Is this right?

It is saving to the .my file but not the properties file and since the wiz.bin gets info from the properties file, it too is not saving the cast info.

dvd_maniac, what version are you running? I only problem I've seen since 2.0.2 that I haven't nailed is maybe something to do with Actors names with strange characters ie: or some other special characters. Is it problem with a particular movie?

The changes in 2.0.3 are all cosmetic.

John

I upgraded to 2.0.3 then restarted Sage and tried a couple more movies. I have done over 30 now and none are saving actors.

I am also running IMDB search 6.4. What else could I try?
Gridiron Gang is the last movie I tried and none show any special characters in the IMDB search results...

Can't think of why it's not working for you.

Can you change debug_logging=TRUE in SageClient.Properties (with your client shut down of course).
Start up Sage and try a save.
Stop Sage, zip the sagetvclient_0.txt and post it.
Set debug_logging back to false and restart Sage.

Are you running as a service? If so I need the sagetvclient_0.txt file.

Does it work on any files that are not .mp4?
