Any word on the OSx client?

Hi there,

Is there any official (or unofficial) word (or rumours) on the OSx client. I have a mac-mini PPC connected to my main TV in the lounge and would love to get it working properly. I know that I can use the placeshifter, but I want ripped DVD support. There doesn't seem to have been much talk around here about the subject, but I'm sure that it's because people are busy beavering away at getting it ready.

I would be , pleasantly, surprised to see a mac client in the near future, now that we have the placeshifter..

The mac client is still in closed beta. If you read the release notes you can see the progress/changes. The last mention was in the release notes for 6.1.6RC.

Im guessing the mac version will hit beta once this round is completed.

Will it run on a G5? Are you one of the tester?

I thought the placeshifter was the only mac client.

No, Placeshifter is the Mac client & that is currently in the public v6.1 beta.

Hmm, I thought Sage MC for Mac was in private beta, I would have thought SageClient would be as well.

There is no "SageClient" for the Mac, just the full SageTV MC application (SageTV.app) and the placeshifter application (SageTVPlaceshifter.app). You will always need to use the placeshifter to connect to a different machine.

It's more like the Linux version than the Windows version in that respect...
