Note: The STV updates are for updating the SageTV version 6.6 UI, not for installing an update for SageTV from a version prior to v6.6. To update the SageTV installation, see the downloads page for the latest version of SageTV. Do not manually install these STV updates over a previous version of SageTV.



A downloadable STV update is available -- go to Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> Check for STV Update.

The v6.6.1/v6.6.2 STV file set will be updated to version 2009080601, updating the default STV with these changes:

1. Video Browser: when using Folders view with Separate style, fixed issue where network directory paths that are not currently accessible were treated as videos.
   
   
2. Search menu: The Search command refreshes the search results.
   
   
3. Search Menu: Update the search results if a video is deleted.
   
   
4. Removed Color Calibration option from Source Details when tuner is Hauppauge HD PVR, since SageTV has no access to those settings for that tuner.

Note: If you are using Vista, the STV update option may not be available. If you are unable to use the downloadable STV update within the SageTV v6.6.2 UI, you can manually install the update:

1. Download the update file:
   2009080601.zip
   
   
2. Make backup copies of this file: SageTV3.xml, found in <SageTV install path>\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3
   
   
3. Unzip the file to your SageTV install directory where SageTV.exe is located, making sure to preserve the zip file's directory structure. This will overwrite SageTV3.xml in <SageTV install path>\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3. Make sure the updated file does not end up in Vista's VirtualStore.
   
   
4. Restart SageTV or reload the default STV (SageTV3.xml) in the SageTV UI at Detailed Setup -> Advanced.

The STV version will be listed in System Information as v6.6.2.2.

3. Changed maximum CC and subtitle font size to 50.
   
   
4. The CC and Subtitle font sizes can be changed via the left & right arrows while in the "Caption & Subtitle Options" dialog during video playback.

Can you manually update the STV using the file here on SageTV v. 6.5.9 without any problems?

This update appears to step all over the customizations. After updating I cannot customize any plugin comskip RW etc... it completely removes the option to customize the plugins from setup customize. Rebuilding does not help.

The slight response improvement in Detailed isn't worth disrupting imports, so I'll revert the change that I believe causes that issue & post a new update later.

For now, your old default STV will be named "SageTV3.xml.<old version number>". You can restore that as SageTV3.xml to revert to the previous version.

4. Can select the New Channel on Lineup system message for options to enable/disable the channel or preview it. Can also use the Play or Play/Pause commands to begin the preview.

Please note the title of this thread starts with: Downloadable STV Updates for v6.6. This topic is for STV updates; to update SageTV, you need to install the latest version of SageTV.

By now, anyone using the previous STV update (2009090401) should have received a system message that an STV update is available, unless STV updates aren't avaialble from within SageTV because of using Vista with UAC enabled.

Just an FYI. I am running SageTv 6.6.2.218 on WHS and have 2 HD100 extenders running the stock STV with imports (based on the 200982102 STV and only the comskip for default STV import) as reported by system info. I received no system message about this new STV.

When does it look for that, when it does an EPG update? I forced an EPG update via Neilm's webserver this morning about 10am trying to see if the EPG would pick up some changes for the rained out Sox game. I'm not sure when the previous regular EPG update was done.

Please read the change notes previously posted in this thread. If you aren't running STV set 2009090401 (or newer), you wouldn't get a system message about an STV update because the feature hadn't been added yet.

I updated to the new STV and when I use the add on manager the version number reverts to: 2009072401.

Reverting to default STV brings it back to: 2009081901

Thoughts?

Not sure... if you force it to rebuild, does it overwrite the old plugin-managed STV with a new version, or does it say it worked but the file doesn't actually get changed?

Did the rebuild work correctly, but maybe one of the plugins changes the STV version number?

If I force a rebuild the stv-with imports date time stamp is updated.
I also deleted the with imports STV then forced a rebuild (after switching to the default stv)
The rebuild seems to complete ok and the plugins' functionality is working as expected..

I am attaching the log snippet related to this. Let me know if there is anything else you need from me.

I am having trouble updating one of my HD100s. One updates fine but the other goes through the download and reload process and then tells me to look for another update and when I do I can see that the STV has not changed. (i.e. it says I still have the same version that I had before doing the update.) There are no error messages. NO matter how many times I try downloading the update it simply does not change.

Have you ever seen this before?
