Image qualitfy worse / freeze on Win 7 64bit
So i switches to SageTVv7 at the same time as switching from XP to Win7 64bit.
I now seem to have 2 problems:
- The quality of the analog channel tuned by my Hauppage 2250 is lower than i used to be. I set the Sage quality setting to high and it's not helping much. It's noticeably more 'grainy' than before.
- On the same Hauppage 2250 the clear QAM HD channels (locals) are coming in super clear (all digital i guess) so that didn't change.
- On my Hauppage PVR-500 I'm connected to a Comcast Digital cable box (not HD) via S-video. I can see a few seconds of video when the channel changes, then it gets all 'blocky', audio gets garbled and usually it freezes until i change the channel. I have the latest released drivers for the PVR-500 from the Hauppage website.
- On the same Hauppage PVR-500 i'm also connected on composite to a CCTV camera, that image seems to be fine, although there is ofcourse not as much 'motion' on the CCTV so it may not be a fair comparison.
- I had switched the tuner that was connected to the Comcast digital cable box to tune basic cable and it's doing the same there and locking up.
This is a temporary configuration since in few weeks Comcast will cease the analog broadcast...i got my 2 DTA's in already but haven't connected them yet.
Anybody else having issue with PVR-500's under Win7 64 bit? Since it sortoff works i'm hoping there is an experimental driver or something to fix it. Is there a way to control there tuners in windows? (i mean change the actual tuner settings, not the quality setting in sage).
I'll probably need to get a HD-PVR but I'd rather wait for some sort of cable card or similar solution.
