Question Recommended Java Version?

I'm getting ready to perform a clean installation of Sage V9. I'm also doing a hardware upgrade at the same time so I'll be doing a clean windows 10 install as well.

Is there a 'best' or 'recommended' version of Java for use with version 9?

Thank you to everybody who has contributed to keeping SageTV alive and kicking!

The Sagev9 windows installer will install java if it is not already installed, so you shouldn't have to worry about java. You will probably want to go into java after the install and turn off java updates however. Do this as the administrator or it will not stick.

I turned off updates just to avoid any potential issues. Just left the one the SageTV installer used.

On my Win10 desktop client, that I don't use that much, I accidentally updated it to the latest version (v8) and it's still working fine as far as I can tell.
