How does QAM channels and guide info work with sagetv 6.6?

I was thinking of installing sagetv with windows 7 and a pvr-500. While that probably will work, I am thinking about buying the hvr-2250. The 2250 picks up the QAM channels, so how does that work with the guide info? I have charter cable and my TV picks up QAM channels, so lets say sagetv picks up starzHD which happens to be 124.1 on my TV. Can I select the charter digital, which has starzHD in its lineup, and map the QAM channel to the correct charter channel.

Let's say the QAM channel, from the 2250, is 124.1, just like my TV, and the charter channel is 757. Can I tell sagetv to tune to 124.1 but use the guide info from 757? I have never modified anything in the channel setup so I am really new to it.

It's only going to pick up the ClearQAM stations. Not the encrypted ones like Starz. You'll mostly pick up locals in HD. Or the basic if you cable has moved stations over to all digital.

The QAM starzHD that my TV picks up is not unencrypted? My tv only picks up clearQAM so I would assume that the 2250 could pick up the starzHD.

Yes you can. After you scan you get a list of what was found and you can tell Sage which guide channel to use for each.
