Hauppauge Model 1609 problems
I built a new SageTV server with the Hauppauge Model 1609 Quad ATSC tuner.
When I attempt to configure the tuner, I receive a message as follows: There was a Capture Error in Playback. Details: ERROR (-40x80004005) There was a problem using the capture device. Please be sure you have the latest drivers installed for your capture device, and that they are installed correctly. I have tested the capture card with WinTV10 and subsequently uninstalled that application leaving the drivers. The card shows to be running properly in the device manager using the Hauppauge drivers. I disabled the Windows camera function thinking maybe the camera application was holding the tuner? Anyway, I enabled the native logs: Code:

What type of signal are you trying to watch? OTA antenna, cable TV, etc???
I see references to both ATSC and QAM in the logs, so I am unsure.

Interesting development. So I created a Virtual machine for Windows 10 using VMWare Player and connected the Removable device (Hauppauge quad tuner PCie) to the VM. This works!!! (Basically I have a Windows 11 PC running Windows 10 VM.)
Must be something with Windows 11 blocking SageTV from using the Quad Tuner. I ordered a USB Hauppauge tuner to see if that will work with Windows 11.

So that stopped working once I applied all the updates for Windows 10. Same issue as with Windows 11.
Back to the drawing board. Maybe I will poke around in the code to see if I can capture/debug the exact issue.

You have done a channel scan right?
Does Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD ATSC Tuner-0-ATSC.frq exist? John |

I also gave up on the that tuner as well and purchased a used Hauppauge 2250 dual tuner and the HDHomerun quad tuner.
Windows 11 sees the 2250, but I cannot ever get SageTV to see the tuners, so I downgraded my OS to Windows 10 Pro and now the 2250 works as it should. Now for the HDHomeRun tuning capabilities, I find it is not as good as a tuner as the Hauppague tuners. The 2250 tunes more channels and seems to have a much better signal. Michael

That seems odd that the HDHR can't tune as well, but I have no experience with the Hauppauge OTA tuners. Did you try switching COAX from the Hauppauge to the HDHR and see if the results are any different?

Although it was a number of years ago, there was a point in time that I was running both Hauppauge and HDHomeRun tuners. I would agree with your assessment, the Hauppauge tuners seemed to provide better/more consistent PQ than the HDHomeRun tuners. However, the network tuner capabilities of the HDHomeRun outweighed the Hauppauge benefits, so I completely switched over to HDHRs.
