Exporting recordings to Plex/Emby/etc....

Hi. I am trying to remember how I used to to do this.

What I am trying to do is export SageTV recordings to Plex/EMBY etc... by generating symlinks from the folder import format that these systems all want (e.g. /Recordings/Grey's Anatomy/Season 1/Episodename-S1E1)

There used to be a utility that did this by looking up BMT data for XBMC, and I remember using this to make copies or linked directories, but I can't seem to find it for some reason.

What's the best way of trying to do this today?

This is promising, but it doesn't look like it talks to BMT to get metadata. If I have a recording that doesn't have a season and episode in the name, will mcebuddy be able to make a link to it?

Yes, I just confirmed that it won't pull season and episode data if the filename doesn't include it. I have a few thousands shows that were recorded before that was an option, at least before I knew it was an option.

MCEBUDDY can read SageTV xml files to get the metadata ... example of how I rename my Sage Files ...TVShows >>> Boston Legal (2004) - S03E03 - Desperately Seeking Shirley -70757-0.ts ..... movies >>> Trolls (2016) -70239-0.ts

You need to set this property to create an XML file.

load_at_startup_runnable_classes=net.sf.sageplugins.sagexmlinfo.RecordingXmlGenerator

Oh that is cool. I never knew that feature existed.

So I set this variable in the sage.properties files, and then at restart sage will make an xml file for every recording?
