Why am I not on the SageTV Mailing list?
This post is in response to:
1. Many Sage Users got an email from sage regarding the sale of the company. 2. Google "would like a group of beta testers" - From Brent's responses to his questions Here's the problem- I personally own 4 copies of SageTV media center. The first bought 5? years ago. the latest bought 2? months ago. And yet SOMEHOW I have never received any mail from sage. I realize many of us did not get an email. but I would like someway of assuring that I am on that list for the future- whatever it may hold. As I would be very interested in participating in whatever the team that made SageTV is doing next. So here's my thought - if you didn't get an email reply to this post. If you did get one, please don't ![]() I wouldn't reply with my email in this topic, that's just begging for spam. But *hopefully* Opus, Narflex or someone with access to this forums admin area can scrape our email addresses and add them to the list? or they can PM us and ask for our emails? -OR- maybe the new regime can assure us that these forums will be how they get there beta folks for whatever is next. EDIT Please see this post: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...7&postcount=25

I didn't get an email. I did search my email for sagetv & found email from SageTV at my current email address. It was the upgrade keys for v7 from v6. So they do have my current email. Just no letter from them..

Have you guys checked your junk box? I was surprised to find mine there. Jeff sent the Email under his own name instead of the normal Sage type source.

Perhaps there was a "receive emails about SageTV products" box during the check-out process that we didn't click?

No e-mail either. Maybe it would be easier to ask who did get an e-mail and what the e-mail said.
I think most people want to know what is going on. How long will things be in limbo? Will we have to wait a week, a month, a year, or forever? It would be very easy to shut down the forum, which did not happen yet. That's a good sign. But the uncertain future is not helpful for any of the SageTV customers. I wish I would bought several clients now, then I could keep SageTV running for years after the HD units break. Dave

I'm pretty sure as long as these forums remain open (which we now know is at least 1yr) that those that get the emails will share with those that do not.
I'm more concerned with being included in any betas / news of the future SaggleTV product. (GoogeTV? nah.) - Just don't want to be left in the cold for any new magic coming down the pipe, whenever it comes.

No email here, either.
As long as my server runs I'm okay but I really want a better solution than the HD-PVR/Colossus for locked down channels. I was looking at building a Win7 server later this summer but that's on hold.
