Rendering Quality Varies over WAN?

Verizon FIOS on both ends.

In fact, when the remote HD200 was on Comcast (miserable bandwidth) things were pretty good too.

Mostly good over FIOS now... but occasionally very poor resolution watching both movies and recorded TV on the remote HD200.

Latest instance, I re-booted the server and (coincidentally or otherwise) things got better for the remote end.

Anybody been here?

Here's a screen snap of the processes per Process Lasso: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...p0NEFRQThPRVJ3

I am assuming that "[32]" means a 32-bit executable.

This is Sage v9, is 32-bit right?

Also, are the two instances each of SageTVService.exe and SageTV.exe normal?

Edit 2017 08-06 09:51:

I think I may have found the rendering quality cause: my process monitor (Process Lasso) had "Priority Class" set to "Below Normal" for the transcoder. .... Kicked it up to "Above Normal" and it seems tb OK now.

But the question about two instances each of the service and Sage remains.

Nope.... upping the process priority has not eliminated the problem.....Maybe reduced, but not eliminated.

Here's something that might be a clue:
  • I have the fast-forward key on the Sage remote (>>|) programmed to skip forward 10 seconds.
    .
  • When rendering is ok over the WAN, that is how it works: same as locally
    .
  • But when the skipping problem is evident, that key reverts (?) to causing playback to fast-forward at 4x when the HD200 is running over the WAN. ... Local HD200's suffer no such effect.

Does this tell me anything about the nature of this intermittent problem?

Looking at it from the outside and knowing nothing, it seems like the HD200 is running in two different modes:
  • "Good" where playback is normal and that key jumps ahead 10 seconds and
    .
  • "Not-So-Good" where playback is choppy and that key puts it into 4x fast-forward.

??

My understand is HD200 will run in placeshifter mode when connecting to a server outside local subnet.
