HD epg questions

I have recently got my dvb-t2 HD tuner working only to find the over the air (OTA) epg is huffman compressed. Which sage cannot decode/uncompress.
However it is possible to decode/uncompress the huffman encoding and there are some people who seem to have decoded it. - offer a freeware utility that takes a tuner grab decodes the huffman encoding and makes an .xml file for importing ( I couldn't get it to import with stephans importer although it probably would if I put some effort in and asked)

Nebula digi-tv also claim to have decompressed the huffman code as well

I was wondering if anyone knows any work arounds other than using xmltv imports?

Also I don't have freesat but was thinking of getting it and I was wondering how much of the freesat epg is huffman compressed? Is it all the freesat epg or just the freesatHD epg that is huffman encoded?

Thanks in advance.

I would try EPG Collector to get the EPG data and use XMLTV Importer

Works perfectly for me

Yeah thanks oddity. I didn't know about "EPG Collector " I'll look into it. I was going to use dvbguide 0.90 but I look into EPG collector to see which is better.

I would have preffered native huffman decoding because it keeps things simpler with less maintenance.

I don't have a satelite card so I would still like to know how much of the freesat epg is huffman encoded.
